MIXAFERRUM - iron with patented PHOSPHOSOME® technology

Iron is an essential mineral nutrient, necessary for important physiological functions:

MIXAFERRUM ADVANCED IRON FORMULATION

The innovative, highly bioavailable supplement has greater resistance to stomach acid, due to the layer of modified starch and maximum absorption, due to the phospholipid layer of Phosphosome®, which prevents the interaction of iron pyrophosphate with phenols, which are located in the extracellular space.
Studies have shown that Mixaferrum significantly increases hemoglobin and ferritin levels, without side effects.

Dose: Take 1 tablet per day.

Other ingredients: Contains vitamin C (50mg) and folic acid (400µg).
Efficacy and safety: Tested in women with menometrorrhagia, uterine fibromatosis and during pregnancy, showed an increase in sideremia, ferritin and hemoglobin levels after treatment. Tested in elderly patients with severe anemia, after hip fracture surgery.
No unwanted gastrointestinal disorders (nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, stomach pain).

MIXAFERRUM TECHNOLOGY: PHOSPHOSOME®
This technology uses a pyrophosphate iron coating formula to improve iron absorption and minimize common side effects.
Thanks to its gastroresistance and properties of specific absorption in certain places, greater absorption is achieved inside the cells without energy costs, thanks to the presence of phosphosome.

Mechanism of action:
Absorption has been investigated and it has been shown that the exceptional absorption of iron occurs via different pathways:

1. Enterocytes
2. Transcytosis pathway mediated by M-cells
3. Paracellular pathway

Absorption via M-cell-mediated transcytosis is a major advantage and may benefit patients with conditions such as colitis or inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which interfere with enterocyte iron absorption.
