Oxidative stress is that which does not hurt and has no specific symptoms, and carries the epithet “silent killer”.
The modern lifestyle leads to an increased risk of oxidative stress. Bad lifestyle habits, insufficient physical activity, unbalanced and poor nutrition lead to a state of oxidative stress that we do not recognize until a certain disease manifests itself.
However, doctors agree that this condition can also be kept under control, and the consequences can be prevented
the development of diseases caused by oxidative stress.
Oxidative stress is defined as a shift in the balance in cellular redox reactions in the direction of oxidation, which results in cell damage. Now surely we understand the famous “antioxidants”? A powerful weapon that protects the cell from decay.
There’s been a lot of talk about them lately, but we’re always looking for that wise solution on how to recognize and choose the best.
Let’s start from the beginning, we pharmacists always use good old proven drugs, even when we know that they are accompanied by new technology, and there is no mistake.
We know that ALA (alpha lipoic acid) is described as the most powerful endogenous antioxidant in the professional literature. ALA is created naturally in the body, its biosynthesis decreases with aging, so it is necessary to take it in through food or supplementation. It is of extreme importance that it is of natural origin, thereby increasing its absorption and usability.
What is natural alpha-lipoic acid used for?
It is used in diabetes, peripheral polyneuropathy (disease of peripheral nerves characterized by tingling, spasms, burning), retinopathy (damage to the eye structure – retina), cardiomyopathy (damage to the heart muscle), cerebral ischemia (reduced concentration of oxygen in the brain), heart diseases and blood vessels (increased level of fat in the blood, atherosclerosis).
Since it is well absorbed and crosses the brain barrier, it is also used in senility, after a stroke, and in Alzheimer’s disease.
And we complete the whole story about the effect of ALA with vitamin B6, which contributes to the maintenance of normal protein and glycogen metabolism, regulation of hormonal activity, normal energy metabolism, reduction of fatigue and exhaustion, and contributes to the normal function of the immune system.
